Ohio River Scenic Byway
Travel along the mighty Ohio to explore the historical, cultural and natural wonders along the river’s banks.
A truly restful getaway is as much about the journey itself as its destinations. So take the opportunity to slow down and soak in the scenery on the Ohio River Scenic Byway. The byway — one of four beautiful Ohio routes also designated as National Scenic Byways — hugs the course of the Ohio River. Hands down, the prettiest and greenest section is the winding two-lane stretch between Cincinnati and Portsmouth — don’t be surprised to see touring cyclists also pedaling along this beautiful stretch. The descriptions below generally run from west to east, deliberately to keep a driver closest to the river. For planning a vacation along the Ohio River Scenic Byway, visit
