Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen
Kent
During renowned actress, role model and fashion icon Katharine Hepburn's six-decade career, she was nominated for 12 Academy Awards and won four. Her sense of style influenced countless women, fashion designers and the informal, elegant approach to American style seen on today's runways. In 2008, the museum received Hepburn's personal collection of film, stage and television costumes, as well as clothes worn by her for publicity purposes. This special exhibition features her stage costumes, screen costumes from classic films and television movies, items revealing her "signature look," an ensemble of tailored beige trousers and linen jackets, as well as vintage posters, playbills, photos and other artifacts.
