4 Ohio Sweet Corn Festivals

Take a bite out of these festivals that have become community traditions with games, music, contests and plenty of sweet corn to go around.

Fairborn Sweetcorn Festival | Aug. 17–18
With roughly 130 vendors selling items ranging from candles and jewelry to barbecue chicken and fresh watermelon, this annual event at Fairborn Community Park has a little bit of everything. Since 1982, the corn festival has dished out family fun for Dayton-area residents (and plenty of sweet corn to go around). Children will love the pony and train rides, and everyone can enjoy the live music and dance performances after grabbing a bite to eat from one of the food vendors.

Celebrating its 49th year of family fun, the North Ridgeville Corn Festival packs loads of corn-themed fun into its three-day run. Enjoy a free weekend of live music, games and the festival’s star food at South Central Park. Friday night brings a fireworks show before Saturday features a corn-eating contest. The event wraps up on Sunday with a 1-mile parade.

Millersport Sweetcorn Festival | Aug. 28–31

This community near Buckeye Lake marks its celebration of sweet corn with classic carnival rides and games around the festival grounds located off Chautauqua Boulevard. During the four-day festival, enjoy corn-eating contests, as well as kids-only corncob tosses. Be sure to catch the Wednesday-night parade with marching bands from throughout the area, and don’t forget to pick up Lakewood Band Booster doughnuts on the way out. You won’t be disappointed.

Corn is not the only draw at this annual festival held at The Antique Power Club of Clinton County. Witness the Corn Olympics, which are chock full of unique events like the toilet-seat toss, tricycle race, log walk and more. The $5 admission ticket gives attendees access to games, live music and a train ride for children. Tractor and horse pulls, a craft market and a parade round out the fun. More than 20 food vendors are on-site for dinner and dessert options.
