Graeter’s and Skyline Chili Unite for Limited-Edition Ice Cream Flavor

Ice cream and … chili? While this collaboration may not make the most sense on paper, it’s a flavor bombshell for those who live in Cincinnati.

Two Queen-City-based culinary juggernauts, Graeter’s Ice Cream (America’s oldest family-owned-and-operated ice cream maker) and Skyline Chili (a 75-year-old franchise lauded for its Cincinnati-style chili) have joined forces to launch a never-before-seen flavor of ice cream: Graeter’s Skyline Spice Ice Cream.

Speculation about a potential collaboration was teased in 2024, sparking delight (and some outrage) across social media. Much to the chagrin of the naysayers, the full potential of this iconic crossover has been realized, and the resulting product is now available to order online (starting Jan. 24).

The unconventional concoction combines Graeter’s handcrafted French Pot ice cream with Skyline’s signature chili spice mix, plus some oyster crackers thrown in for good measure.

“Everyone who knows chili knows Skyline and, as longtime fans ourselves, we were eager to collaborate on a one-of-a-kind, must-try flavor,” fourth-generation president and CEO of Grater’s, Richard Graeter said in a Jan. 24 press release.

Chairman and CEO of Skyline Chili, Dick Williams, chimed in as well.

“This is the first time Skyline has done a dessert collaboration, so we knew it needed to be worth it,” he said in the same press release. “Graeter's Skyline Spice Ice Cream has the heart and soul of both beloved Midwest-born brands in every bite.”

Graeter’s Skyline Spice Ice Cream will be hitting store shelves Jan. 27, so be sure to pick some up in time for big-game gatherings or to taste test with family and friends.
