How an 11-Year-Old From Logan Became a Lego Legend

Bentley won the title of Legoland Discovery Center Columbus’ Mini Master Builder for 2025.

Forget the bucket of Gatorade, how about marking your win as a master Lego builder with a shower of plastic bricks. Bentley, an 11-year-old Lego enthusiast from Logan, Ohio, received that honor after claiming the title of Legoland Discovery Center Columbus’ Mini Master Model Builder champion. (Bentley’s last name was withheld due to his age.)

The Mini Master Model Builder competition invites those who live near a Legoland Discovery Center to submit a Lego brick build of their choosing that is then evaluated by a panel of judges. Bentley constructed a rock mining and crushing vehicle that the panel selected as the 2025 Legoland Discovery Center Columbus winner.

While visiting Legoland Discovery Center Columbus during his victory celebration, Bentley had the opportunity to engage with Master Model Builders at the Build the Thrill event — an exclusive Lego F1-themed event running in Columbus through April 27 that invites attendees to build a Lego race car and experience other Lego and racing-themed activities.

Now that Bentley has been named the Mini Master Model Builder for Columbus, he moves on to face off against other local winners. Next, he will build a creation that best represents his hometown of Logan and will compete against other builders from around the world for the first-ever title of Global Mini-Master Model Builder.
