All Aboard The Polar Express™
Make lifetime family memories at the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum this holiday season!
With the holidays quickly approaching, The Dennison Railroad Depot Museum is decking the halls to celebrate the return of The Polar Express™ Train Ride. Trips depart from our historic depot located in Dennison, Ohio, in Tuscarawas County. This popular immersive family-oriented experience hosted over 1.4 million riders at 54 locations in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. in 2019, and Dennison is one of the officially sanctioned The Polar Express™ operations. Popular dates and times are expected to fill quickly, but seats are now available for departures beginning Dec. 3, 2021 and continuing through Dec. 12. Tickets are on sale now at DennisonDepot.Eventbrite.com or by calling our ticket agents at (740) 922-6776. Guests are encouraged to book soon as this beloved holiday tradition is expected to sell out.
The Polar Express™ adventure comes to life as the train departs for a round-trip journey to the North Pole led by a cast of storytellers and colorful elves. Passengers will relive the magic of the classic story as they are whisked away on The Polar Express™ for a one-and-a-half-hour trip in vintage railroad coaches to meet Santa. Once on board, the conductor will work his way through the coach and punch golden tickets before hot chocolate and a delicious cookie are served by dancing chefs. Passengers will read along with the Storyteller as the classic, award-winning children’s book The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg is read aloud. The excitement rises as the train arrives at the North Pole and Santa hops aboard the train to greet passengers. He personally gives each child the first gift of Christmas. Throughout the journey, there will be music, games, carol singing and loads of fun! Just like the kids in the book, families are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the ride!
During your visit, there will be plenty of time to see the beautifully restored Dennison Depot, Museum and Gift Shop filled with The Polar Express™ souvenirs! The Depot is a National Historic Landmark for its role in serving 1.5 million soldiers during WWI and WWII at its homefront Servicemen’s Canteen, earning the town the nickname Dreamsville, USA.
