Summer Is Still Going Strong In Westerville, Ohio!
Don’t put out your pumpkins just yet! The official last day of Summer is Sept. 23, and Westerville will be serving up some serious summer fun up until the very end of the season.
From fun festivals and markets to live music and celebrations a plenty, Westerville has an impressive lineup of can’t miss events on deck for the remainder of the 2023 summer season!

Uptown Friday Nights – Aug. 18 and Sept. 1, 8, 15, and 29
Uptown Friday Nights are back in 2023! Join us the first, second, third (and sometimes fifth!) Friday of each month (weather permitting), May through September for live music and shopping throughout Uptown Westerville. For your enjoyment, there will be different musicians featured throughout Uptown and many merchants will stay open late for prime boutique shopping opportunities! These events are organized and sponsored by the Westerville Uptown Merchants Association (WUMA).
Westerville Saturday Farmers Market – Every Saturday morning through Sept. 30
The Westerville Saturday Farmers Market brings Central Ohio grown food and farm products to Westerville from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot behind Westerville City Hall (21 S. State St.). Visit the market to support and shop locally grown food and farm products through a direct connection with farms, nurseries and bakeries. In addition to a variety of protein, produce and artisan bakers, visitors will also enjoy specialized prepared foods on site along with special features including fitness classes, professional knife sharpening, health and community service tents, live music and kids’ activities. BMX State Race – Aug. 20
The Ohio BMX State Race will take place at the Westerville BMX track on Aug. 20. Registration is open from noon to 1:30PM and racing starts as soon as registration closes. This state qualifier will welcome more than 400 visitors from all over the state! Westerville BMX is a USA BMX sanctioned program and riders of the sport range from under 5 years old to over 56 years old. Join us on Aug. 20 at Alum Creek Park South to experience this action-packed and family-friendly sport! Registration is $25 for a Class/Cruiser and $10 for Balance Bikes. Bluegrass Festival – Aug. 20
Join us for the first annual Bluegrass Festival in Westerville, Ohio on Sunday, Aug. 20 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Java Central Cafe. This exciting and free all day event will feature five different bluegrass bands, making it a great day for excellent music and loads of fun! View the full lineup of bands here.
Westerville Fourth Friday Festival – Aug. 25 & Sept. 22
Music, entertainment, shopping, art, food, pop-up vendors and fun all await you at Westerville’s annual 4th Friday Festival. Join us as we close State Street and invite the community and visitors to historic Uptown. This popular, longstanding street festival occurs from 6 to 9 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month, May through October. Each festival features a popular band at the main stage in front of Westerville City Hall, street performers, activities and entertainment throughout, food trucks, specialty features, and more than 100 pop-up vendors. Those 21 years of age and older can take advantage of Uptown’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) and stroll about with their favorite adult beverages sold by several Uptown establishments. Grow & Glow Festival – Sept. 10
Organized by the Westerville Education Foundation, Grow & Glow is an annual celebration of the Westerville community’s support for innovative education in Westerville City Schools. This year’s festival will take place at the brand-new Minerva Park Middle School from noon to 6 p.m. and will feature dynamic student performances, interactive exhibits and demonstrations, engaging STEM and art activities for kids, food trucks, games, building tours and more! Otterbein University Homecoming & Family Weekend – Sept. 15-16
Join in the celebration and mark your calendar for Otterbein University’s signature alumni and family event! A variety of exciting activities are planned for both days and visitors can learn more about what to expect and view a full schedule of events here.
