Start your weekend at Grove City Guide + Gear inside the Visitors Center. After talking with the friendly staff, head to Transcend Coffee + Roastery, where you can order a latte and nibble on a freshly made pastry while planning your winter weekend.
Outdoor enthusiasts flock to Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, which features more than 7,000 acres of forests, prairies, and wetlands. Start at the park’s Nature Center to learn about the Big Darby Creek ecosystem. Immediately behind the Nature Center, you’ll find the park’s herd of bison grazing in their winter pasture. Although the bison are the main attraction here, nature lovers can also hike, snowshoe and cross-country ski at the park.
After taking in these dreamy winter scenes, warm up with heart-pumping fun at Big Bounce trampoline park. The locally owned indoor park offers excitement for kids of all ages. You won't be able to stop smiling as you literally bounce off the walls!
When it’s time for a bite to eat, chow down on a Coney dog, fried bologna sandwich or gyro at George’s Coneys & Gyros, a central Ohio staple since 1948. Or, grab a Pizza Trek book and enjoy a slice from one of eight participating restaurants to earn your first stamp. (Those who collect four stamps can trade them for a Pizza Trek T-shirt.)
After lunch, take a stroll along Broadway in Grove City Town Center to see the city’s murals and shop at local boutiques such as Country Hearth Primitives, Zassy's Tap Room and Home Decor, The Farm Table on 62, Sommer House Gallery and Co., Dapple + Dun Collective, Grace & 62 Boutique, Skylark's Toys and Comics, and The Honey House.
Afterward, sip local Ohio wines at Plum Run Winery or enjoy a pint of craft beer at Grove City Brewing Co., which is located in the same building. You can also choose from a menu of salads, flatbreads, burgers and more, before heading to your hotel for the evening.
Day two of your Grove City winter weekend starts at Lilly's Kitchen Table for a hearty homemade breakfast. Then, play in the winter wonderland of the 110-acre Fryer Park before heading to LVL UP Sports — central Ohio’s paintball mega park. After a full day of activity, head back to your hotel to get ready for a dinner of Italian-inspired cuisine at Cimi’s Bistro at Pinnacle before heading to Little Theatre Off Broadway for a musical, comedy or drama.
Before heading out the next morning, spend some time at Scioto Grove Metro Park. The 620-acre park offers open areas and scenic bluffs where you can easily spot migrating birds and waterfowl.
