Upstairs from the Rocky Point Winery in Marblehead, The Red Fern Inn was built as a schoolhouse in 1893. It’s just a quarter mile to the iconic Marblehead Lighthouse and a block from the ferry to Kelleys Island. Climb the spiral staircase to the cupola for a view of Lake Erie.

The Lakehouse Inn Winery in Geneva-on-the-Lake resembles a rambling white farmhouse, with eight rooms, many with fireplaces and whirlpool tubs, and three cottages just 100 yards from the shore of Lake Erie.

Dalton Union Winery and Brewery, in a countryside setting seven miles out of Marysville, offers a huge 2,000 square feet Airbnb with its own theater room, poker room, pool table and patio. The suite is just steps away from the winery, which also offers craft beers and hard cider.

Dutch Creek Winery offers accommodations inside a vintage yellow C & O caboose that’s been completely renovated. The caboose is located on a winding rural road about 11 miles outside Athens and about a half mile from the winery.

Rent the entire 1890 Guest House with its four guest rooms at Breitenbach Wine Cellars near Dover. Furnished with rustic farmhouse decor, the house also has a modern kitchen and a fire pit outside. The winery and cafe are just across the road, or guests can take a hike through the woods to Breitenbach’s Dusk –Wine and Fire Bar.
